Hallstatt Magic: The Value of Its Pristine Air
While ticking off my bucket list item to visit Hallstatt, I learned about how it is possible to turn something ordinary like air into something that has marketable value
Hey everyone! I’ve just ticked off a major bucket list item: visiting the picturesque village of Hallstatt, Austria.
It has been on my bucket list for years. If you've ever seen photos of this place, you may believe that it is straight out of a fairytale. Indeed, when I was there, I was pretty charmed by the village that is nestled between the towering Dachstein Alps and the serene Hallstätter See. Not just myself alone, it has conquered the hearts of hundreds of thousands more. In fact, its air is so precious that it’s being bottled and sold.
First of all, did you know that Hallstatt has a twin? Yep, you heard that right. China loved Hallstatt so much they decided to build a replica of the entire village! Imagine the attention to detail and the lengths they went to recreate this Austrian gem. It's a true testament to Hallstatt's beauty.
Secondly, there’s a quirky tidbit: Hallstatt's pristine air is being sold. When I googled, I found out that it can be bought at €15 per can. It sounds wild; but when I was in Hallstatt, breathing in the crisp, fresh air felt luxurious and I could understand how some ingenious person would come up with the idea of bottling the air for sale.
Manufacturers have turned something as ubiquitous as air into a product. Walking through Hallstatt and enjoying the breathtaking views gave me a new perspective on product creation. The key takeaway? It’s about capturing the essence of something truly special and knowing that it appeals because of its uniqueness.
So, if Hallstatt isn't on your bucket list yet, include it in. It's a place that offers stunning beauty. There is certainly magic that you can feel when you are able to tick off your bucket list item. It’s exactly what happened to me. I spent the most relaxing day, taking it all in by the waters and on the mountainside when I visited the salt mines.
Where else can you say you've breathed air so pure that people are bottling it up?
